Daemen Study Abroad Scholarships

 
There are many scholarships and grants available to students studying abroad! Most scholarships require students to be participating in a program at least 3 weeks long. There are Daemen-affiliated awards, partner-sponsored scholarships, as well as national scholarships to apply for. Scholarship application deadlines vary and are usually 4-12 months prior to the program start date.

Daemen Study Abroad Scholarship Application:

When applying for scholarships, make sure to be mindful and thoughtful with your responses. Money is given based on need. For the Gianadda, Gliozzo, and Sabatino scholarship, recipients must write a thank you letter to be shared with the donors.

Center for Polish Studies Travel GrantThere are 3 $500 grants for students traveling on the international seminar to Poland to help cover the cost of travel

First-Generation Study AbroadThis award is designed to support First-Generation college students in reaching their study abroad goals. First-generation describes students for whom neither parent graduated from a 4-year college/university.

First-Time Traveler: Global Programs believes study abroad can benefit every student, especially those who have not yet been given the opportunity to travel outside of the U.S. This award was designed to recognize the need to support students with little/no travel experience.

Gianadda: This award is generously given in the names of Henry and Rensa Gianadda to support a Daemen student in achieving their study abroad goals.

Gliozzo: This award is generously given by Dr. Charles A. and Marjorie A. Gliozzo in support of students studying abroad during their time at Daemen.

Global Leaders Award: Global Programs believes strongly that every Daemen student should take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad. This award was created to support students in reaching their study abroad goals, regardless of their background, academic major, or financial need.

Kosciuszko Foundation Travel Grants for Study Abroad in Poland: 6 grants ($500 each) for students traveling to Poland on our faculty led program.

Lumesh Kumar Scholarship: Our newest award was given by a recent graduate and 4-time study abroad participant, Lumesh Kumar. Lumesh participated in multiple service learning programs and his graduate practicum abroad. Upon completing his Master's in Public Health at Daemen, Lumesh generously donated funding to support a future study abroad student.

Passport Grant: This grant will reimburse a student the cost of their passport fee: $165.

Sabatino: Named in memory of the college's longtime and beloved professor of philosophy and religious studies, Dr. Charlie Sabatino. He was an ardent supporter of many causes including service learning and study abroad.

Sigmund and Wanda Medwid: This is a $1,000 travel grant for a student traveling on the international seminar to Poland to help cover travel costs.

Sustainability Majors Abroad: A generous fund has been designed specifically to support Sustainability majors studying abroad. Sustainability majors are required to participate in a study abroad program as part of their graduation requirements.

Vision for Success: This award is designed for a Daemen University Vision student with a passion for study abroad.
